My favorite time of the year is Halloween. Maybe it’s because I was born in October but I’ve always loved the classic horror movie marathons that go on during the whole month. When I was younger I would pour through horror magazines. I guess that makes me what they call now a “Monster Kid”.
A few years back we decided to run a competition on our Facebook page. We picked three horror monsters and created faux products utilizing these monsters. We gave our audience a chance to vote on their favorite monster. The monsters were a zombie, a vampire, and a werewolf. The werewolf won by a landslide even though some of us Walking Dead fans were pulling for the zombie to win!
Years ago we did a polyhedron for the movie Puppet Master. This pop-up was packaged with multiple items that were sent to video stores with information on ... READ MORE...
The Holidays are fast approaching, so at American/Perrygraf we created our Christmas Card to send to our favorite customers! We decided to go with a functional and fun polyhedron pop-up with a header card.
The poly has a whimsical flowing design that can be set out all year and functions as a pen/pencil holder.
The header is created in the form of an Elf can be removed and used as a Christmas ornament. The back of the Elf features the words Merry Christmas in various languages…including Klingon!
For added flair, the card is printed in four color process plus a metallic ink. For additional POP, we added a 3D effect to the red and gold foil for the stars.
The four color and spot color were printed in house. The 3D effect was printed at Dreamworks Graphic Communications. The Skodix inkjet machine at Dreamworks creates 3D enhancements and textures that are pu... READ MORE...
A few words about the upcoming holiday season from our senior designer Kelly:
I love the Christmas Season and all the Christmas Cards that get delivered. Whether it is at home or at work or by e-mail, each season comes with the influx Holiday Greetings. You have the e-cards which even the funniest make me think, that’s cute and then I delete. Then you have the cards in the mail that tend to include the generic front with generic message inside. I hang those along the doorway along with the others and tend not to think twice about them. Last you have those special cards, the ones with pictures and special personalized moments that you can’t help but smile at each time you pass. Which does your Christmas card encompass? Are you the bland or the wow? Do you want to take your Christmas Card to the next level, then try some of these example on how to make your Christmas/Holiday... READ MORE...
There is nothing I love more than seeing our NEW 2019 Calendar Pop-Ups in Action! When filmed in Slow-Motion they sound alot like Fireworks!
My neice would love to take a bunch of the pop-ups, stand hidden by a door, then release a bunch of them at her brother. I don't recommend doing this as in they could hurt you...unless you really want to get even with a sibling.

Before you send your artwork or logos into your printer, go over the list below and take care of the 5 main problems we encounter with customer artwork. Not only will we love you for it, but it will make the whole process go easier and faster for you. Here are a few things to look out for and some helpful hints on how to get them.
1) DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BLACK – The Black in your Color Swatch menu should have a CMYK breakdown of 100% Black (0, 0, 0, 100).
Why is this important? When you add cyan, magenta or yellow such as (68, 69, 78, 89) this combination can look “muddy” on press and we want to give you a nice clean black.
2) USE PANTONE OR CMYK (NOT BOTH) – We print in both, so please double check whether your job is in Pantone or CMYK and keep the colors in your file matching that.
Stating the Obvious We understand it may seem obvious Panto... READ MORE...
I have so few passions in my life that an outsider might think of me as boring and old, but I am a very happy camper, if I am by water with a book, a glass of wine and a wedge of cheese!
So why is it that the 20 and 30 year olds of our time, do not want to read anymore? Whatever happened to the intrigue of characters in a story that you start to love and feel like they are like family by the time you finish the book? Are books being replaced by videos? I so hope not!
If we are at the point, in our younger generations that we have to make reading more fun and interactive, then why not introduce them to American Slide-Chart products. We create and produce all of our products that spin, slide or pop! Finding the answers is not only fun but also educational.
